How to be Unstoppable

A framework

Superior Performance Systems

Hi friend,

Hope you’re well.

Today I want to start off this issue with some of my favorite quotes:

"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right."

Henry Ford

"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination."

Tommy Lasorda

All three of these talk about the same thing: — Mindset

But here’s the thing; — mindset is important, (maybe the most important) but like a relationship, it’s a bit more complicated than that.

I read a great article from Dan Koe the other day on this topic and that inspired me to write my own.

To ensure that the pursuits in your life are fruitful you need the following:

1) Vision For Direction

The world's most successful people are all visionaries.

You have to have an evolving image of what they want your future to look like..

You discover what you want by understanding what you don't want and acting on things to create your ideal life.

Here’s a fun exercise for you to try:

Find your Ikigai:

The intersection of:

  • what you love

  • what you're good at

  • what the world needs

  • what you can be paid for

— Is your unique purpose. It is your unique selling point.

"The person who has a why to live for can bear almost any how."

- Friedrich Nietzsche

You become truly outstanding and irreplaceable when you know how to leverage your purpose.

2) Goals For Clarity

  1. Set a 10-year goal.

  2. Set a 1-year goal.

  3. Set monthly goals.

  4. Set weekly goals.

  5. Set daily goals.

You need goals to reprogram your mind toward the habits you must form that create the future you choose.

You need goals to form the system that would achieve those goals.

You probably won't hit all of those goals.

AND they probably won't keep you motivated. That’s when you’ll need…

3) Systems For Progress

Winners and losers have the same goals. – James Clear

A system can't exist without a goal, a goal won't be achieved without a system.

What is a system?

Put simply, It's a series of actions that lead to a specific result.

If you want to get fit, you need a system for training and eating, preferably one that you find enjoyable and sustainable.

If you want a better relationship, you need a system for communication and connection.

One system doesn't fit all.

How do you create a system?

Self-experimentation.

Nobody can teach you how to do something. They can only teach you how they do something.

  1. Research processes that others have found success with.

  2. Experiment with various techniques.

  3. Discover patterns and principles.

  4. Create your own process.

Remember:

Open your mind and think through all perspectives, not just the one.
